Tales first joined Hostech as a director in November 2009 and was yesterday confirmed to take over the role of CEO from Carlos Perez, who will continue with the company in the role of executive director. Tales will retain his position as director in addition to his new role.

In December 2009, Hostech completed the acquisition of 5Star Telecom and OfficeLink Plus, two small-medium business-focused telecommunications companies and has announced plans to acquire a further four IT service companies: Accord, Axxis, Aspirence and Anittel (formerly known as PKBA).

According to Hostech, Tales played a role in all six of the acquisitions, from identification of the companies to management of negotiations, contracts and due diligence.

Tales was the founder and CEO of ASX-listed telecommunications company engin and has held the role of CEO at marketing company, Mobile Innovations.

Hostech chairman Campbell Corfe said Tales' appointment was part of the company's long-term move to consolidate its role in the IT services and telecommunications sector.

According to Corfe, Tales' new role in the company, combined with incoming executive chairman Peter Kazacos (who founded Kaz and Anittel), would provide Hostech with the management skills needed to move the company forward.
