CA loses Australian chief
Global software giant CA today revealed its local managing director Tony Armfield had resigned his position to pursue what the company described as "other interests".

Armfield, CA's managing director and area manager of its Pacific region, which includes Australia and New Zealand, had been in the role since 2006, stepping up from running the New Zealand division since 2001.
"I have enjoyed managing CA's considerable interests in this part of the world, but feel it is now time for me to make some changes. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my CA Pacific colleagues well for the future, as they take the business to new heights," the executive said in a statement today.
CA said its Asia-Pacific and Japan senior vice president and general manager, Gavin Selkirk would run the Pacific region until Armfield was replaced.
The news comes as CA's local fortunes appear to have undergone a turnaround. The company's most recent results, filed last year with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, revealed growth in its local sales revenues of 10.5 per cent to $164.6 million from 31 March 2006 to 31 March 2007.
In contrast, revenues sank 4.8 per cent in the previous year. More recent statistics have not yet been released.
