Im on ADSL2+ in regional Victoria... Warrambool to be exact. Im only able to get, on average, around 7000 kbps - 10,000 kbps... which seems great but... i live within 700 metres from the exchange!! i was quoted around 18,000 - 20,000 kbps when i signed up!

Don't be fooled people, i mean no personal offence to the last person's comment, but this was a burst, all networks have them, and surely he lives near a capital city. Also, people aren't realising that Next G network is being developed to be faster and more reliable, also coverage is much better. Other wireless offers will soon be obsolete. Oh, one more thing -- NO I DON"T WORK FOR TELSTRA!!!

Just Scored 4106 Kilo bits per a second.
    No Joke.

    Kilobits kbps- Your Bandwidth Speed.
    Kilobytes- Your Download Speed.

    E.G:
    1000 Kilobits per a second=1 mbps
    KIlobytes Per A second= 128 Kb/s

And It's The Same With Mb/s And mbps OR mbits.

Hey, your attainable line speed is different from your actual transfer speed ( the rate at which you download data ). For example, speedtest here shows that i'm getting approx. 3500 - 4000kbps line speed, but my transfer rate for downloads is around 400kbps. If you want faster download speed, simple really- move to higher line speed plan- as in 8000kbps or whatever.

    TPG INTERNET

The test shows im running about 12000kb/s after a few tests and im on the $79.95 8000k plan.

My internet has become sluggish though. I have had a computer guy around to flush my system to get it to run at peak but my internet is still slow. Whats going on?
