Patch Monday makes its timely return and is armed with another week of stories, interviews and rumours to digest.

Being discussed on Patch Monday this week, we look at movement in the Melbourne banking scene with ANZ sending 500 IT jobs to India and the NAB replacing their CIO.

Queensland's ICT industry made quite a splash at an election debate and even went so far as to launch advertisements demanding support from the Queensland government and opposition parties.

Legislation to boost NSW Police covert searching and computer hacking powers looks set to go ahead after facing almost no opposition in the lower house of the NSW Parliament earlier this week.

Be sure to vote in our poll to let us know your thoughts on the topic.

On Thursday night, Senator Stephen Conroy won the Charles Todd Medal for Communicator of the Year for improving levels of customer service by working with industry, developing Australia's digital economy, working through platforms, policies, opportunities and obstacles and supporting campaigns seeking fairer outcomes for users. The Senator also stated that the proposed internet filter would be only for "refuse classification material", we asked what that actually is and the impact it could have.

We also cast our eye over the news that IE8 is set to arrive on March 20.

    One Suggestion Terry -- 19/03/09

Good show, but one suggestion, invest in more microphones. I'm unsure of names but someone sits right next to the mic and the others are a bit further back, when the discussion is between those in the back you have to turn it up to hear it clearly, then the person closest to the mic speaks and it nearly blows my car speakers away !!!
