Soooo... it's okay for Apple to demand use of technologies and designs falling under competitors patents (considered "standards"), but on the other hand find no issue with taking the same companies to court for infringing on such pathetic things as "looking too much like an iDevice" (i.e. rounded-rectangular, glass-fronted, hand-held devices). Ummm... double-standards much?
Look... the other companies might have played hardball with Apple in licensing their complex 3G communication technologies, and therefore brought action upon themselves (FRAND in this case), however Apple can't simply steal these patent-covered technologies and then go "suck it" after the fact - it's not legal. That company (Apple) now has too much money for lawyers and should be considered an anti-competitive company, and one that is a monopoly in the handheld electronics segment. I would like to see them taken to task by the EU, much as Microsoft was in the 90s and early 00s.
Apple's "Community Design" patents should be revoked as they are crazy. yet they can enforce injunctions on the Galaxy Tab from entire countries. How can Apple get away with stealing 3G/Wireless technology WITHOUT injunctions. This is getting silly.
