ANZ offers more free Wi-Fi

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group will once again offer a free Wi-Fi service across various locations in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane over the next few months, including new hot spots for the Manly ferry service.

Starting today and operating until the end of September, ANZ will enable Wi-Fi hot spots across 100 cafes in the three cities. Running from today until 22 August, Manly ferry customers can also take advantage of free Wi-Fi provided by ANZ. From 8 July to the end of September, users at Melbourne's Southern Cross station will be able to browse for free.

Staggered starting dates have been attributed to maintenance and renovation activities in progress at Southern Cross station.

ANZ launched free Wi-Fi hot spots in 112 cafes across the three cities for the month of October last year. Southern Cross Station had free ANZ Wi-Fi in the month after.

ANZ said the campaign was so popular — over 3500 users logged on at Wi-Fi-enabled cafes and Southern Cross station in the two months — that the bank has decided to do it again.

"We're still looking at opportunities to extend [the free Wi-Fi] to new sites. It was brought back because it was so successful last year," ANZ said in a statement. This is the first time that the Manly ferry service has been included in the campaign.
